Boxing or English Boxing as it is better know is a full combat sport in which two participants of similar weights fight each other with their fists. Boxing today is conducted in a very regulated way with many rules for the safety of the competitors in a series of one to three-minute intervals called rounds. Most fights and training take place in full sized boxing rings which unfortunately, not every club has the space or time to assure that their members get the training they need. Then came the Portable Boxing Ring. What Is A Portable Ring? A portable boxing ring is a specially designed ring in which a boxing match or training takes place, the portable rings are normally set on a raised platform measuring from 12" up to 60". The platform on a portable boxing ring is not too high so that if a competitor does happen to leave the ring, no sever injuries will occur. Portable rings can be easily dismantled within 10 minutes and stored in a very small space at the end of a competition or training. The rings come apart in half-sized pieces, for easy handling and transportation. The portable boxing rings are however tough enough to be used permanently if required by the club. Portable boxing rings do not need fixing to the floor and can be place on toughened castors so that they can be moved easily if need be. Portable boxing rings are usually square with a post at each corner to which four parallel rows of ropes are attached; every portable ring has ringsteps, cornerpads, turnbuckles and aprons. Unlike wrestling rings the ropes in a portable boxing ring are generally secured at the midway point. The portable ring has an official inch thick padding covering the turnbuckles to protect the competitors. The rings are made from toughtened steel and three-quarter inch thick plywood flooring and are perfect for clubs which don’t have a great deal of space. Portable boxing rings can be supplied with personalised canvas, matting and aprons to make your event unique; all portable boxing rings can be made to your exact size and specifications. Portable boxing rings and all of their components are tested to the highest safety standards and meet all requirements of all state Boxing commissions and athletic commission's rules. The sport of boxing has come on a great deal since its early beginnings and portable boxing rings have enabled more people to enjoy the sport. |
